THIS WILL GO AGAINST YOUR TN COUNT BUT NO PHYISICAL EQUIPMENT REQUIRED

To make the MWI work on a 3904 acd phone in cls give LMPX, program a blank key as XMWK xxxx yyyy (xxxx = voice mail dn) (yyyy = phone dn)
Next program a phantom 3904 (tn 16 to 31 on DLC) to keep track of the tn I program the phantom on the corresponding data tn. Example my 3904 is on 4 0 0 0 then I would program the phantom on 4 0 0 16.
The phantom must have CLS: FLXA VCE MWA WTA in this order
and KEY 0 SCN xxxx no other keys need to be programmed.
You would do this for every ACD phone that has voice mail and a DN apearence on another phone. I done this and it works well.

THIS WILL GO AGAINST YOUR TN COUNT

Why did you have to use the Data TN? We do this only the time on the regular TN and it works? Except I think I use LMPA... Have to look.

If you use a regular tn then that is one tn that you can not use for a phone also if you have ld 30 turned during the midnight routine that tn will become disabled. ld 30 test the dig phones among other things and if it does not see one it will disable the tn. Having ld 30 turned on may help recover programmed unused tns after the ld runs at midnight an NSW x x x - x is usualy caused by a phone that is not plugged in if nobody reports trouble after a week or so we out the the phone and recover a tn and possibly a DID or two and sometimes a voice mail box. As we all know DLCs are not cheep.

Another way to turn on the MWI would be to program a non DID on a key and have voice mail box turn on the MWI on the non DID but this works best if the mail is connected to this PBX otherwise you will have to do NARS BARS stuff to get it to work and if you have Passport as your TIE trunks you will have to have the routing tables modified there too and you can not have the same non DID on the system with the voice mail and remote site.

hwntel

I agree your config for MWI. Nice tip...

Hwntel, What is the second set for? When we give the Agent's phone CLS-LMPX and setup up the xmwk key. What does the second phantom set do?

This is an example of how we get this to work....Like jamie2 stated, Not sure exactly what the phantom is for?

In your example if 7700 is on key 0 of a phone it will work fine. Some of our customer sites have ACD sets that all the DNs apear on all the sets and none of the DNs are on key 0 the PBX does not know which set to to light up so none is lit even if you have lmpx and xmwk. The phantom phone is to have a key 0 phone so this feature works.

What key do you define your ACD on? I don't have 7700 on key 0 and it still works fine. Key 0 is my ACD obviously, and key 4 is that persons DID. I guess I'm not following where you are going with this?

The example that Eddie provided shows the agents DN on key 4, not key 0 and she has 2 other agents personal DN's on key 5 and 6. By using the LMPX and the XMWK key, her VM lights the phone only for your DN 7700 and not the other agents DN.

The phantom is not required. Post one of your TNs

SCR 7700 is a multi app dept DN not a personal DN.

EDDIE,
how many extensions does the dn 7700 apear on and I don't mean xmwk 3353 7700.

I meant personal DN as the agent's particular DN.

In Eddie's example the 7700 dn appears on 4 other sets. Key 4 in the example above and key 5 on the others.

Maybe the reason you needed the Phantom was it appears your acd in in symposium because your sets are aquired. Eddie's and my phones are in basic ACD queue. All (4) agents have an appearance of each others DN on their phones, but only their DN lights the phone which is associated to the xmwk.

Let's bury this dead horse.
This is what we had to do to make it work.
If you do it another way more power to you, but we tried every thing else and this was the only thing that worked for us.

hwntel,
I agree with putting this one out of it's misery! We were just trying to understand why you would do it the way you did. Not saying our way is the right way either, and with the Nortel product line, there is always a few different ways to accomplish the same thing. I will say that I learned something from your post though.....I wasn't aware you could do what you have done....good job!
