Hi All,

I have setup a CS1000E Rls 5.5 with a SL1 trunk connecting to a BT-ITS dealer board system. I have configured it as SL1 as the dealerboard guys told me it was MCDN protocol, and not QSIG. I tried with ISGF, but the B-channels wont work.

Now over the SL1 link, all features work, apart from the Message waiting indication. Everytime in the DCH trace I see the NMS Facility message it shows a STATUS : UNKNOWN. As per my memory, it needs to be say something like MW ON/OFF and not UNKNOWN

I think its some missing config on the PBX. Could some share some information with the config if you have set this up?

Rgds,
Paresh

@GHTROUT

I see that you have been comparing the two systems on other threads, do you have any information. Did you manage to get the MWI working

Too long ago - left that firm. We went IPC though.

SLI is Nortel proprietary protocol, normally for M1 to M1 connection, so unless the dealer board is 100% compliant with the SLI protocol, you might have a hard time getting this to work.

Hi All,

Thanks for all the replies. My problem is that the NMS Message goes out with a STATUS of UNKNOWN instead of MWI-ON or OFF. This i think might be related to a discovery I made yesterday.

Callpilot seem to have NMS==>no in the licenses. This is interesting as the Features and Services in System info show 500 odd NMS sites available.

I think this might be the problem, as the DCH does seem to try sending the NMS message, but cant get a correct value from the CP server.

Can someone tell me if this is correct? Do I need to have NMS=YES in Callpilot to support a NMS message over a DCH?

Hi All,

After working with the BR-ITS developers, we found out that you need to have RCAP no set to MWI for the message waiting to work. Wierd, but it works just fine.

Solution ==> For integration with BT-ITS dealerboard over SL1 *do not* have RCAP=MWI.
