A user posted this thread702-1588743, which lead to a discussion on dynamically creating pop up menu bars to use as a data controls. I have never seen this asked, or discussed, but it works so well I was wondering if anyone does this regularly and if there are any drawbacks?
You can do some pretty powerful things as shown in this demo
This is in 2007 because I do not know if this will work in prior versions
It can drastically reduces real estate
You can basically make completely reusable, pop up, cascading comboboxes.
You can reuse the command bars throughout the application.
You could have a single control for data entry by switching between command bars.
It works so well and leads to the question why Access does not support a similar native control?
Interested in any thoughts of why this may be a bad idea.
