I have a system that has an Epox EP-MVP3C motherboard with Via AGP chipset, AMD K6-2 (100MHz) 500 processor, 8.4Gb Seagate Hard Drive - Windows 98 operating system. I have also tried Windows 2000 to see if it corrects the problem. No luck. My problem is that the system keeps locking up. Sometimes on boot-up - sometimes when trying to save a document or spreadsheet. I found some discussions that it may be a problem with the video card - changed that - no help. Some say - keyboard issue - changed that - still no help. Any suggestions.

I would want to make sure your ram is not defective, or maybe you could use more of it. My observations have been the biggest performance gain from adding ram is when you get to 192 meg. More than that is great but less than that and things don't work as well. If you have only 64 meg try adding a 128 meg stick.

I had a Mouse g bad once and it caused the computer to lock up. If you click something and it freezes up on you it could be a mouse or some kind of IRQ Conflict. If you do not like my post feel free to point out your opinion or my errors.
