When I plug it in my ibm 600x laptop that is. Works ok in a desktop.

muvo mp3 player not recognised

I'm afraid you are right it's not much help. Mind you Creative aren't much better. They suggested sp1 (it is), lates bios (it is), buy a usb hub!

Sometimes things turn out to be very simple. It's taken me a very long time to work this out. In my defence, you can only see it if you hold the laptop upside down.
The muvo won't plug in fully cos it fouls the laptop case.
Checking with my camera, the plug must be right in for anything to happen. The muvo is about 3 to 4 mm short of plugging in fully. Shall buy a bit of wire in the morning.
