We have a PRI for long distance. The LD company sends us 3 digits starting with 7, 2 or 1 (7xx are groups, 1xx & 2xx are extensions).

We added a PRI for local service with two number blocks, 85xx and 95xx. They would have to send 4 digits.

Will this work?
Setup dial plan routes 0,1,2 expect 3 digits - match a 7 2 or 1 - delete 0 - add none.
The remaining routes would expect 4 digits and match 9 or 8 (or 95 or 85) - delete 2 - add either a 2 or 4.
UDP routing would handle the 4xx extensions.

TIA

Each PRI definition would have its own parameters, but why not simplify the dial plan and use 4 digit station numbers and match the DID numbers. That way you won't have to do all that translation stuff.

Too bad you can one of the new ranges changed to 84xx and 95xx OR 85xx and 94xx. Perhaps it is not too late.

you can also have the line provider sedn the digits you want to have, I have several sites where the DID's get converted to the 3 digit extension number becasue they have above the number of DID's to influence with the PRI settings and they refuse to change the extension range. For money most line provider do almost anything :)
Or tell you local provider simply that you expect them to send you 3 digits and not 4 it is just programming for them and they will also not refuse to do it, except if they have no competition in that area you are. :-(

If you can't be good, be good at it!

Thanks for the responses!

We went ahead and had the local send 4 digits. It is working perfectly.
