Hi all,

I am looking for a way to mute a handset, while on a call, on the Mitel 5220 phones.

The 5220 does have a "Microphone" button, but this appears to only mute when using handsfree/loudspeaker.

I have had a look at programming one of the user keys as a Handset Mute key as suggested in the user guide for the 5220, but this option is not available, nor is their anything similar to this that I can see.

I have checked the COS and the only thing in relation to mute I can see in there is "Head Set Switch Mute"
Which lets you mute your headset.

If anyone could let me know if this is possible on a 5220 or not, that would be great.
Thank you

Not aware of how to do that on the 3300. Maybe its to do with the 200ICP?

The beatings will continue until morale improves.

The MIC key should mute the handset too. Does it work on another 5220?

Always look out for the next guy because it may be you!

What if you setup a headset key and press that to put it on mute? I'd guess the phone will look for the headset but because there isn't one connected, will mute the phone. I'm not sure if this would work, is purely a guess.
