is there a quick way that i can scan my computer for all mp3 files and then transfer them to one directory? thanks in advance for any responses.

Sure.

Do a start, find like you normally would. Do a wildcard find for *.mp3

Then, select all the found files, and move them to the folder you wish.

Oh, and to flesh that out a little:

Once you find all the MP3 files, do a CTRL-A (select all) they will all highlight. Then you can right-click, drag and drop them to the target folder, then select "Move here"
