IP 500 running 5.0.8 with a PRI using a external music source. When calls internally from extension to extension or using a music button the on hold music plays clear. On incoming or outgoing calls when the caller is placed on hold the music then has static. I have checked the input cord for the music on hold and changed cord to a new one and changed the input device from a radio to a output on a sound board of a radio station. This customer of mine is a local AM station and off of the sound board connection to the ip office i am clear no static anywhere. What could be causing this?

Music on Hold Static

It's the lines more than likely, does it have analogue lines? Sometimes going from system to analogue lines this happens

Is it all external calls? I have seen the odd dodgy channel on a PRI that causes static in some circumstances

you say it is a local am station, do they send out at the same location or do they have the tower a bit further away?
Could be that they influence their own signal from the MoH via their sending equipment.
ask them to shut down the sender for a minute ;-) ok they won't go for that, maybe grounding the system properly (if not already done) also check if you can substitute the MoH source with a mp3 player and see if that is still happening, if yes then it is direct influence to the system if no the it might be a potential difference between the PC and the IPO.
