I'm trying to set up music on hold for a small business I work for. We have a Norstar Compact ICS system and I've figured out the programming to set music on, I just need to figure out how to get the actual music input hooked up. I believe I need to put the input signal to Amphenol Connector Pair #23 Vi/Gn for background music, what I need to know is can I just take an mp3 player and cut the headphones and connect to loose ends directly to the Vi/Gn wires, or do I connect it the the side of the pair, or is there another thing I'm missing? Basically what is the easiest/best way to connect the audio input?
I've looked through the FAQ's, wiring pinout, and other posts and learned a lot, but I am still unsure of this.

Yes do the headset method as you described.
You can by the 3.5 mini jack without ruining the headset if you want.
