I have a little MP3 player on my switch to handle moh. This moh is for the switch-at-large, as well as our call center. It seems to work fine that I have heard. Our call center can have as many as 45 people on hold at one time.

My question is this: is there a limit to the number of people that can listen to the moh route at one time? I want to be doubly sure that all callers on hold...inside, outside, queue, etc...will be able to hear the music and not dead air.

Any configuration tips and pointers, if there is a limit, would be appreciated.

Here is my music route configuration:

Usually it is based on how many CONF Cards and Channels are available.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

I would not reccomend you play MOH to internal callers, since they can see (from a digital phone) that they are still connected - plus, you can set a RAN to remind them how important they are.

But yes - every MOH listener is taking up conference channels so you may need to add more CONF/TDS cards to support a lot of holding calls.

Remember RAN (applied to ACD) and MOH are different, but both can accomplish similar end-results.

Or--- Look into the feature package "Music Broadcast" which does not use Conference channels to play music to on-hold calls.

Thanks for the info...

I checked out our switches and we do, indeed, have Music Broadcast. I set our mus route on the switch at the call center and now all callers should get moh.

Thanks!

D'oh! I should have said..."I set out mus route on the switch at the call center to bdct and now all callers should get moh."

I dropped the route from the trunk and config'd symposium for ringback on hold, set bdct to yes on the route and then put everything back.

I guess I'll see tomorrow if all the callers-on-hold are getting the mus...

Your suggestion on checking out Music Broadcast in the books worked a treat. Thanks!
