I am having an issue with dead air on my music on hold.
Seems to be only way correcting it is to power off/on the device which will work for half the day and then reports of dead air or static. Below is a printout of the MUS route. I secured the jumpers from the device to the TN. Any suggestions? Hardware issue? any help greatly appreaciated

Use a butt set, earphone, small audio amp or something to verify that the music is indeed playing at the block. It doesn't sound like a switch issue.

number of trunks and number of stations. and do put a monitor spkr on the trunk source.. i use one trunk per 600 stations

Also - what do you use for you music on hold? Miran? or do you have a cd player connected to a analouge trunk card.
If it is a cd player - check the repeat functionality - some cd players can't repeat more than once

Thanks

like i posted you can't fix moh without a monitor source of some type. you can usually allow access to the acod to check it from your phone, but that still doesn't tell you if the dead air is the same sound that the jumper is providing

One trunk in Route19. The MOH device is Holdware with music/greeting recorded on it. How would I put monitor spkr on the trunk source?
Justatec- The MUS is set to NO. What will changing it to ON do? Thanks

if the mus is set to no on the mus route, it can stay that way. mus yes needs to be on the other routes. monitor with a butt set on the physical tn. if you have music part of the time, it's not software

As rfwhite previously stated, if you have a butt set, clip it onto the block to make sure your music is physically connected and working at the right connection point. A butt set is a good enough monitor set for a minute or two, not the greatest fidelity.

If you dont have a BUTT SET you can use a 500 set with a jumper wire to punch on the Nblock to listen.

I do have a set and will monitor. thanks all for your response

Does the device allow you to set it to repeat. Sounds like it play through then stops. Mine is set to repeat all.

I had a problem with the MOH that worked for while (1 or 2 days) and then it suddenly stopped. Had to DISU and ENLU the TN to make it work again. I had it on the MIRAN III card with 3.0m sw. Nortel released a another sw in may (30p03)that corrected theese problems. And the problem has not occured since the upgrade.

i have a problem similary to that (music on hold)..

when a Call comes from internal caller..the Music is on the way
differently if the Caller came from outside over an incoming Trunk... when i transfer a Call no Music gets the Caller possibly hangs up

I checked the Incoming Trunks, they have Music "yes" on Route
but not the Musicroute, they stands on Mus=no (programmes like "is2teli")

thank you for hints
