I have a movie with a tween that extends from frame 1 to frame 10.(This tween is an animated logo. I put the tween right there on the main timeline so immediately on page load, the animation will start to play.) Then on frames 11, 12 and 13 I have movie clips that will be accessed by buttons. I would like to have bg music to this movie. Problem is: If I put the music loop into frame 1 and loop it, you need a stop action on frame 1.(otherwise, the music loops over itself and sounds terrible) And if I put a stop action on frame 1, then my tween won't play b/c the movie will stop on frame 1 until a button is pressed. So how do I get music into this movie?

(I thought of putting that initial logo tween in a movie clip and inserting that in frame one and then there would be no problem having a stop action on frame 1. But then, as soon as a button is pressed, the timeline jumps to one of the other movie clips and the logo disappears of course. And I need my logo to remain on the screen the whole time!)
Any ideas? Thank you.

Perhaps it would be better loaded in as a separate swf. That is almost always how I do it. It just seems to work better for me that way. Load it into a level from the first frame and then load or unload with an on/off button. Regards,

All of this could all be done in a 1 frame movie with the use of movie clips, but for sound, it might be a better idea, as Tulsa suggested, to load it on it's own level and forget about it!

Can you elaborate a bit what it means to load it on it's own level?

does level mean layer?

and when you say load a new swf, does that mean make a new movie with the music in it in frame 1, and looped? then insert that .swf into it's own layer in the original movie?

and what does it mean: load or unload with an on/off button.

I haven't done this b/4 so i'm not sure what to do. thanx.

Levels are not layers, but are somewhat like layers.
Each movie scene, or movie clip is made up of layers, but each movie can hold several (almost limitless, until we find a definitive answer about that!) levels. An external movie loaded on level 1 will overlap the main movie allways loaded on level 0 or _root level.

That said, consider this soundclip movie:

That's a self contained sound movie. But if I load this movie on level 1 of another main movie, this is what happens:

This is the easiest way to have a background sound loop, looping across several scenes in one movie. Otherwise the sound loop would re-start on each new scene playing.
Although it's not the case here, you could also control the sound movie from the main movie, but that's another question.

If you want to have a look at the files:

So I create a new movie with my music in it. I go to a frame in the main movie and put an action in the FRAME ITSELF to load the sound movie? Then I create a button and and onRelease I put the unload action - level 1?

and how do you get the button to LOAD the sound movie if clicked again?

btw, when I tried to download the files, I got the following message:
404 Error - File Not Found
The page or file you were looking for was not found.

Thank you!

I got it. The files are a big help. I might have a question when I actually begin, but I'm pretty sure I understand how you did it. Thanx very much!
