We've had an 8 port FF830 2.0.04 fax server up and running for the past two years routing inbound faxes to various devices and it's been terrific.
We haven't looked at using it for outbound faxing until recently. I've been working on this off and on all week and am not able to send an outbound fax. I'll see it show up in the FaxFinder 'Fax Status' queue but it keeps erroring out with 'Fail - A connection was not made' message. I think I'm missing something on the modem configuration page.
We're running ASA 2.1.11. Here is configuration for how inbound faxing (which works) is set up:
DNIS digits route call to station 6373, which has a cover path of 24. This cover path sends call to hunt group 14. The hunt group has 8 members, stations 5159, 5157, etc., with ports configured as VMI ports. Each port in the hunt group is connected to a port on the fax server.
Do I need to direct each model line to either the hunt group or an individual station? I must be missing something...
We dial a 3 for an outside line on this system.
When I submit a fax (via FF client), I include a 1 in front of the fax number, ex: 1 123 123 1234.
Following is the modem configuration on the fax server:
Answer On 2 ring(s)
Max Extension Digits 4
Routing: Avaya Mode Code
Routing Definition: #$t2#$c4#$x?
Max Baud rate: 14400
Dial Prefix: 3
Init String: (blank)
Fax Direction: both
Error Correction: Off
Smart Dial: Off
Tone Dial: Off
Fax Debugging: Off
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, regards klmnop
