Is there someway the context path can be removed from the url when I have multiple websites on the same server ?

Example:
When a user goes to

http://www.example1.com

the page's url says:

http://www.example1.com/example1/index.jsp

http://www.example1.com

- located webapps/example1

http://www.example2.com

- located webapps/example2

http://www.example3.com

- located webapps/example3

Not sure I follow what you want to do.
Do you mean, if they type in a browser :

http://www.example1.com

then they get redirected to

http://www.example1.com/example1/index.jsp

?

Yes.

When a user types in

http://www.example1.com

into their browser. The url redirects to

http://www.example1.com/example1/

How do I remove the context path from being displayed in the url when I have multiple web applications.

/webapps/example1
/webapps/example2
/webapps/example3

OK, can we get away from the whole "multiple webapp" thing - this is just clouding the issue.

I take it, that when you enter :

http://www.example1.com

into the browser

you get :

http://www.example1.com/example1

but you wish to remain with :

http://www.example1.com

Is that correct ?
