Hi,

We have purchased a Cisco 2911 Router, its come with 5 WAN Layer 3 Ports and 4 Lan Layer 2 Ports.

I'm more or less there with the rest of the configuration, i just need to be able to configure all 5 WAN ports so that they can connect to a range of IP's given to me by my ISP. Not being a Cisco person i'm not too sure how best to configure them.

thanks in advance.

So you have five separate links to the Internet? How do you envisage or how to you want the routing to work becasue thats five default-routes in the same box?
I think you are going to have to policy-route, have five equal-cost routes and let CEF sort it out or have multiple VRF's. I assume you are NATing (PATing on each of the five interfaces?

Not loads of information to go on here....

I think he has one ISP and multiple IPs from that ISP...which just fyi ,if that is the case, you wouldn't need multiple interfaces. In fact you couldn't.

Hi,

I currently have 1 ISP with a possible 12 IP addresses I can use. Can I configure a single port to use a range of IP's instead?

Thanks in advance.

Once you configure a single port with the IP address and subnet mask that the ISP gives you, you cannot place another IP address in that range on another interface.

What you would need to look into is NAT, specifically static NAT, if you want to take outside internet addresses and assign them to inside hosts.

YOur being great help

thanks for this.

Could I use Nat the other way - set of internal addresses over specific external IP's?

thanks

Yes you can do that as well, just reverse your logic in the NAT statements.
