Hi;
I'm running under windows and we're networked. Is it possible to have files such as spreadsheets opened so all computers can read and write to them not just the first person to open the file?

When multiple single user application data files are opened only the last one saved will be recorded. These applications load the entire file into local memory and make the changes accordingly so any changes made by others is not seen and will be overwritten. Even programs like Access do not truly lock at the record level but at the sector level. If your records are one full sector this is not a problem but for other sizes it can be a problem also.
