I have a subreport(SubA) which gives statistics for 4 different locations(departments). I group on Dept. I need a subreport(SubB) that summerizes that same data. Since formulas and running totals will be the same for both subreports, I saved SubA as SubB, readit in, made all neccessary changes and saved it again. When I try to insert SubB into main report, CR keeps inserting SubA. Anybody have any ideas?

P.S. - I realize that I could have used totals and grand totals but using one subreport as a template for others saves a lot of repetitive coding. So my question remains.

TIA

This is a known bug. You can't reinsert a subreport saved as a separate report. If you had created the report originally as a separate report, and then saved it under another name, you could insert both separately. Once it is a subreport, it can't be saved out and reinserted.

Thanks Ken,
I thought I was doing something incorrectly.

I want to create a report that has only 2 fields. I want the report data should break in 3 columns in a Page. I mean the report should look like this ,

Page 1.
Group1 Starts
Id Name Id Name Id Name

1 A1 4 A4 7 B3
Group 2 Starts
2 A2 5 B1 8 B4

3 A3 6 B2 9 B5

Page 2.
Group3 continues in the next page...
I want to break the report in 3 Columns per page.
