Hi Guys,

Is it possible to have multiple data source in a report. Say, one Stored Procedure and one table/view? Or is it possible to have 5 stored Procedure in one report?

Thanks in advance.

Ed

Hi,
Depending on the Version/type of Database:

Yes
Yes

There can be performance issues with mixed tables and SPs, but, as long as the SP is properly constructed, it is 'seen' as a table by Crystal...

Thanks for your immediate reply.

SOrry, I forgot tell u about the tools I am using. Here it is, Im using CR XI and Oracle 9.02. And these reports will be published on BOE XI.

What are the performance issues? I have this scenario when i tried to UPDATE the procedure and my CR just crashes. ANy other possible problems?

Hi,
Mostly, with Oracle, you just need to keep the queries created by Crystal as efficient as possible .

( Run them in SqlPlus with Explain Plan , or use something like TOAD to anaylyze the query)

I assume you did not try to update from within Crystal?

When any change is made to the underlying data, do a 'verify database' before running the report that uses that data.
