Simple question; i have a working SIP trunk o´n my system. My provider tells me i have 2 channels. But when i do a call, and try to make another on the same SIP line, it doesnt work. Do i need to setup another SIP line with same username and password? Or does the avaya require me to have 2 licenses for 2 channels?

Cheers

2 licenses for 2 channels I am afraid.

If you can't be good, be good at it!

1 Channel in the IP office can handle more than one call.
Default it's programmed for 10 calls, if you need a second channel make a new SIP URI on the same sip line with a new usermae and password put that one on "Registration Second"
So to me there's no need for more license.

I think when your provider says channels he means the amount of calls you can use at the same time.

Quote on SIP Licensing
"SIP Trunk Channels licenses is required in the IP Office configuration. These set the maximum number of simultaneous SIP calls supported by the IP Office. Multiple licenses can be added to achieve a cumulative maximum number of channels supported.

Both have to be purchased. You purchase the maximum number of SIP channels from both your SIP provider and Avaya.

Johnnybrian,

You need multiple sip licences for muliple sip calls. I have a 406v2 with VCM8 card, but only 7 sip( 5+1+1 ) licences. So the most outgoing calls I can make are 7, or 8 way conference. I have 6 incoming channels ( 3 local number, and 3 toll free ), so I'm limited to 6 incomming calls, or 7 way conference incomming.

Hey All! Thanks for the help, that clarifyes it for me! :)

Cheers
