All,

I have problem for running procomm 4.8 on win2k. I open 8 procomm plus windows and run com 1-8. The program run fine for 2 hours and suddenly everything frezze. I can't control anything but reboot the system.

As reading though Symantec site, I found multiple session works best for win98/95 and winNT.

Have any of you see similar problem before. How can we fix this.

Thank you very much for your help.

Thanks Knob.

Yes, run multiple script at the same time. All scripts did same thing except connect to diff. com port. Also, the script use a lot of array and data collection.

I did try to download update DLL except pw5.exe (used the old one).

Thanks,

OK, give the new files a try and see if that takes care of the problem. You will want to get the pw5.exe even though you are using version 4.8. For some reason, Symantec moved all of the filenames in version 4.8 to pw5... instead of staying with pw4.

Knob,

With PW5 install, problem still the same. Test with less port (7 serial ports instead of 8), scripts ran for 3 hours and hang up (compare to about 1.5 hours with 8 port running). I am setting up to run with 4 ports now. I will know how long will it take before its hang up again.

Do you think if it is a memory problem? I have 1GB RAM installed.

Thanks,

Can you try runnning all of the Procomm windows but just the script in one of those sessions to try to narrow down the problem if you still see an issue with 4 ports?

Is it just the various Procomm windows freezing or Windows itself?

Knob,

The window freezing and can't do anything but reboot. I suspect the problem cause by tranfer data to network computer. I am changing to save data to the local computer first and will transfer after the scripts done.

Thanks,
Phuong
