Multiple Root Nodes in FTree or XFTree

Help!

I'm trying to use FTree to display multiple root nodes on the top level instead of just one root node... in others words I don't want:

root
--folder
----file
--folder
--folder

I want:

folder
--file
folder
folder

It doesn't seem possible with either the FTree or XFtree components, but I'm wondering if anyone has figured out a way? I'm up for anything except rebuilding a component from scratch, since I am too lazy and/or stupid.

still figuring it all out so im not sure if does what you want but i suspect it might.
