hi

i have a simple question about rave reports.

i want to create 8 instances of a set of data (there are nine dataviews arranged in a particular way), with two columns of four, iyswim.

now it seems i can do that by c&p where i produce 8 of the same. however, the problem there is that with each instance, it produces the same record details, whereas for each new instance i want it to go onto the next record, so there are eight records on one page.

any idea as to how i would do this?

I've been trying to get something like this done for a while now...with no luck. Is there anyone out there that has any idea how to do this?

Sorry I couldn't help you, it was just comforting seeing someone with the same problem:)

You might try using 'parameters' on the RAVE designer page for all of the data fields, then in a program loop fill the parameters from your database with the eight records for each view, execute the page and do it all over again.

I found to do special things that manually programming the report format, but using the RAVE engine for printing worked.

I have a feeling there must be an easier way to use rave with multiple fields from several records but ended up using parameters myself, a tedious process but it seemed to work
