Open the mailbox propeties and select the email address tab. Add in new internet addresses (SMTP addresses). All email addressed to any of the addresses listed on this page will be sent to this mailbox (note that the bold address is the return address) and I've yet to come accross a realistic limit to the number of SMTP addresses a mailbox can have - my current record is 27 addresses for one box.
Note that this only works if the SMTP address is not already on the system. If it is look up 'alternate recipient' in help to redirect email from one box to another.
Incidentally if the SMTP address is on a mailbox that has just stopped being used it is preferable to hide the mailbox and remove the SMTP address rather than delete the mailbox, realise you've made an error and have to do a brick level restore.
Thanks for your replies, but I'm sorry that I didn't explain myself well enough.
I want to a manager to receive all the mail that his employee receives -- both internet and intra-office. Is this possible on Exchange server without having to create a forwarding rule in Outlook or grant permissions in Outlook?
To have messages sent to both the recipient and another user, open exchange admin go into the target mailbox (the employee) and open the delivery options tab. Near the bottom there is an option to have the messages delivered to both the recipient and someone else (alternate recipient). Be sure to check the checkbox so that both persons get the email. Hope this helps.
