I take a lot of digital pictures that come out at a large resolution (which I like for large prints) but I also share an online gallery and I like to resize them for that to 800x600.

Is there a way to do many atonce or do I need to keep trudging on doing them one at a time?

Just record an Action with a resize command (constrain proportions) then run it on your image folder (Automate->Batch).

For more info look up 'Actions' in the Photoshop help file or check this tutorial:

Batch processing can be a little confusing at first, but you'll get the hang of it...just remember to keep a backup of your original images!
