I have a merlin legend system. We resently had a power outage. When the system came back up i had a port on a 012 card that stopped working. I had room on another card (016) so i renumbered the new port with the old extension. The problem i am having is when you dial this old ext in the new port it rings at both the ext i dial and another extention as well. Everything else seems to be working fine except the ringing at multiply phones. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do a printout of both extensions and see if there are any cover buttons programmed on either extension.

Was the bad card at the end of your system, or somewhere in the middle? And the cards - T/R, TDL, MLX, ATL? What type of stations?

Bad Port is on a 012 w/ ring gen 12 basic telephone sets
new port is on a 016 w/ ring gen 16 basic telephone sets
both cards are in the middle of the cabinet

Since my last post i have changed the port to another port on the 016 card. Now instead of it ringing at say Ext's 100 and 101 it rings at 100 and 102.

I am very new to Phone systems how would i go about printing the cover buttons programming for those extensions. Thanks for your quick responses.

Under standard SPM:

Menu > System Programming > Exit > More > Print > More > Ext Info > Enter Extension Number - enter file name (Usually the ext number

Thanks for your help. Once i printed the ext info i was able to see there was a call forwarding in place. How that happened i not sure. But thanks again for your help and for giving me another tool to help learn this system. Everyones help is greatly appreciated.
