I have set up a hunt group for the IT-Helpdesk which rings circularly between 4 stations, now they want it so whenever someone calls the group all the phones ring at the same time.
Is there a way I can set that up?

Thanks

You can set them up in a terminating extension group since you only have 4 stations (thats the limit). You can also setup a coverage path for the teg.

You could also try a coverage answer group

I'm testing the TEG and see if it works that way. thanks

If I set up a coverage answer group the phones will not ring at the same time... or am I wrong?

The most elegant way to set this up is with a coverage answer group.

You start with an X port station. This extension will be what users call when trying to reach the help desk.

Create a call answer group (add cov ans next). Add the 4 stations to this group and note the group number.

Create a coverage path for this coverage answer group (add cov path next). In the first point of coverage, put CX (X= the coverage answer group number). The second point can be voice mail, or just about anything you wish. Note the coverage path number and save the form.

Change the x ported station (ch st XXXX) and add the coverage path to the station form.

Now when someone dials your lead extension, the call will ring on all 4 phones simultaneously, then it will move on to the next point of coverage (I would use a centralized voice mailbox for your X ported station).

Good Luck

The coverage answer group will also work, but using the teg first gives you more flexability. Heck you can even set up the coverage path with a answer group that is the same as the stations in the teg. The other advantage of using a teg rather than a "x" port station, it doesnt count against your total port count.
