I have a PC running under XP with 3 user accounts. It recently required a re-install of XP and I had to set up the 3 accounts again. In each case I used the "mail account set up" wizard in Outlook Express to create different mail accounts with the 3 different email addresses. In each case they are all using the same Account Name & Password that my service provider requires. However ... my wife's mail account seems able to send emails successfully but it fails to receive replies that I know have been sent to her. On the other hand, she has received emails addressed to me ! It seems that if she is logged in then she receives my emails whereas I receive them if I am logged in. I've checked the mail accounts many times and I'm sure I've set them up as required ..! Help please ?!

OE does not act well with multiple email addresses.

try switching to Outlook; that hanldes multiple email accounts but they all come into a shared inbox unless you have each user with a seperate logon

It all worked find before I ad to re-install Xp. I'll try to describe the problem again.

My PC runs XP and I have set up 3 separate user logons - one for myself, one for my wife and one for my kids. In my wife and my own logon accounts I have configured MS Outlook Express as required i.e. My Wife's or my own email address, my service provider's servers, my broadband account name & password. Note: my broadband account name is the saem as my email address.

I can send and receive email okay in my own logon but I have failed to receive some emails because they have gone to my wife's email inbox when shea has logged on.

My wife can SEND emails okay in her logon and they show up in the recipient's inbox with her email address on them. However she cannot RECEIVE any replies or new emails sent to her email address.

I have tried to send an email to my email address when logged into my wife's account and seen it come straight back to her own inbox. However, if I quickly logoff from her account and logon to my own and then into Outlook Express then the email appears in my own inbox.

My wife's logon seems to be confused with my own ?

if it worked prior to a re-install then try checking all of your settings for each account in OE and on your ISP's email system.

I've checked the Outlook Express mail account settings and each user account/email account looks fine. I've just tried adding a rule to my wife's email account to stop emails addressed to me being downloaded by her and this seems to have worked, now at least I get all my own emails in my user account. Any emails I send to her email address just disappear into the ether tho' ..?
