I have searched through all of the forums looking for threads containing multiple MOH sources. Does anyone know of a way of getting 2 different MOH recordings to play for 2 different incoming calls. My customer has a BCM400 and 1 customer service department that handles calls for 2 different companies and when the calls are put on hold the customers would need to hear the appropriate MOH. I know there is only 1 physical connection on the BCM so is there a way of having the second recording be a mpeg file on the BCM.

As far as I can see, there doesn't seem to be solution but I just wanted to check with the people who have all of the answers.

Thanks for your help.

Sorry, not possible.
There is only 1 internal stream for MOH.

Would be a great feature though!

I already see a machine who does this kind of thing. If I remember well, it was plug betwen the telco and the phone system. The problems is I have seen this machine only one time so I don't remember the name.

BingBang99,
The device you are referring to was called "interceptor" made by Interalia but it's manufacture discontinued since January 2005.It was working with copper trunk only.

This would be a great feature, ideally alongside the ability to have the caller hear the moh from the beginning each time!

Not asking for much but it would open up a whole world of opportunities!

Key systems don't have all the whiz-bang features of the larger PBX systems. With a CS1k you can multiple MOH sources and control what calls receive what MOH.

Just one of the reasons why a BCM is much cheaper than a CS1k on a set for set basis.

Thanks for the responses. That is what I figured would be the answer.

Connect a 2nd BCM and trunk them together. Calls put on hold from the 2nd system will hear MOH from the 2nd source, and calls put on hold from the first will hear the MOH from the 1st.

Wow! That is an expensive solution.

My customer is really hoping to be able to do this and he might be willing to spend the money just in order to get the second MOH. Here is a few other specs on the system if you can tell me if you think this would still work.
BCM 400 (3.6)
(2) DSM32+
(1) GATM8
(1) digital Trunk Module

He has a T1 with PRIs.
He also has a Call Center.

Do you think it is still possible with this configuration that it would be possible to accomplish the 2nd MOH with the use of a 2nd BCM? Most of the calls that would need the 2nd MOH would be coming through the Call Center.

Thanks for your help.

Trilinkcomm,

If your 2nd MOH is for your callcenter, here's the cheapest solution for you. In all of your skillsets just replace the "distribute" command (the one that gives the outside caller your music source) by a greeting command like "greeting 50" that will contains your 2nd music files.
You can record them the lenght you want like 30 sec.60 sec.
same as your distribute command.
It will cost your customer few hours to program all this..!

My customer has a customer service dept. that handles calls for their company as well as calls for a customer of theirs that they are getting paid to handle but they have to 'pretend' they are the other company. When a call comes in on my customer's main lines, the 1st MOH would need to be heard and if a call comes in for the 2nd company, then the 2nd MOH would be heard. The customer servive rep would be covering calls for both companies.

I hope this explaination makes sense.
