Hello... I've been tasked with setting up some features on this Call Manager Express system and unfortunately, I'm not a Cisco programmer, it's just something I've been told to get done.

Previously, this location was connected to a 5000+ user Call Manager system and the users could get calls on both line buttons (7940 phones) and since switching them to Express, I only see one line appearance.

Will it need to be done through the Command Line Interface (in which case that's a job for my SE) or can I accomplish this task through the GUI?

And to further complicate things, there were four 7960 phones functioning as "receptionists" that had 4 line appearances per phone for one of two main site numbers...

Help...I'm so outta my depth here, it's scary. gimme a Partner system any day. ;)

You can program the line as a Dual line this is done in CLI.. You can also insert a second number on the phone and fwd the first to the second in a busy status... There are several options I suggest that you talk to the local users for input....

The operator phones can share line this also is configured via CLI...

Question why did you remove this site from the Call Manager?

Some people are like slinkies. Not really good for anything but they bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs.

Hi,

I am trying to configure extension mobility on CME 4.1 with CIPC over VPN.

I have created a logged out profile, assigned it to an ephone, and created a user profile to login with. I have also reset the ephone.

The CIPC registers, however the login soft key is greyed out, and the services button returns host not found.... Have I missed something out?

I noticed in the status messages that the ctl update failed, and tftp timed out, but i was these messages before enabling extension mobility, I was able to register and make calls then...

Please help!!

Thanks,

Peter

jeter,
They were moved off the Call Manager due to its sale and acquisition by the company we're working for.

This location almost ended up with POTS lines and multi-line telephones, but we convinced the buyer (my customer) that staying with VoIP was a good idea.

But now I have a punch list of crap to be completed and I don't even know if what they had on CM can be replicated on the CME.

**************************
my not-so-nice To Do list

-multiple line appearances of main number(s) on the following extensions: 9229 on Yvonne; 5829 on Susan, Kathy, BC's Cafe
-Set up Auto Attendant for after-hours call coverage on main number 9229; instruct staff on recording AA greetings procedures
-Night bell for 9229
-LD access codes = all phones will be restricted to local dialing only without a long distance code
-Wall phones in South Club don't have extensions on CME
-Information button on phones should point to voicemail system
caller id on voice mail messages
-it used to be, after listening to voice mail, you can press 9 to repeat the date stamp and caller ID number
-Voicemail notification light on handsets not flashing when voicemail is present. Until resolved, advise everyone to check message if “Missed Call” is displayed on their phone.
-Create General Delivery Vmailboxes for 9229 & 5829
-security/ transpo fax = this is ringing, but I'm not sure if the FAX machine itself is currently set up to Auto Receive.
-individual ring tones on our desk phones but there only seem to be 2 rings. No possibility of getting other tones?
-Acquire or develop a quick reference guide of phone operation to be distributed to all phone locations.
-Some exchanges work without having to dial area code, some you have to dial the local area code, some won’t go through at all.
-Change secondary dial tone to something more aesthetically pleasing or remove it completely

Thanks!
Julie
