Multiple Keyboard Problems

I have a small group of systems on a KVM switch. There are two windows systems and one linux system. Yesterday, a user went to log into one of the windows systems, and entered the username and password, then pressed the enter key. It said 'incorrect password'. They tried again, and happened to hit the enter key beside the number pad. It worked. After some investigation, it turns out that when the user presses the enter key on the main keyboard, it is inserting a + sign, as well as the usual enter.

After some playing around, I found that when I press the num lock key to deactivate it, that that scroll lock comes on, and it scrolls to the bottom of the page that's up on the screen. If I press num lock again, it goes back to num lock and scroll lock goes off. At first I thought that the keyboard or KVM might be bad, but the Linux system appears to be unaffected. I powered off the computers and the KVM switch, powered them all back up, but there was no change.

Any ideas?

I would still be inclined to try another keyboard & maybe not go through the KVM. If it works OK without the KVM, but not with then the KVM may be at fault. If that still doesn't work then you will need to check out the drivers in Windows.

Thanks for the replies. I have a spare keyboard that I can try, but I'm not hopeful because the Linux box seems to work fine. I've seen weird issues like 'sticky keys' being on, but never anything like this.
