Is there any problem or does it have a bad effect in terms of the speed of my network if I use multiple IP address (one is 10.X.X.X and the other is 88.X.X.X) in my PC with one LAN card? the OS i used is XP.
I do it all the time. No problems. I set each machine up with fixed addresses to give two ranges, but I suppose the dhcp server culd do it (never tried). We use it to control who has Inetrnet access. If they don't get second address, then they are not on the same Ip range as the gateway computer.
