Hi,
I'm use to running Netbackup and I a little confused on how to run ARCServe to do what I want.
I initially created on large job encompassing about 8 servers. When something went wrong I found myself looking through the log trying to figure which server was the problem. I figure it would be lot easier if I had 8 seperate jobs, this way I could identify the problem server immediately. But, I still need to have all 8 servers write to the same media poll.
This is where I get lost. When the custom scheduler says "overwrite" does it mean the entire meida or the session on the media? So server one kicks off find tape for tuesday and writes data, then server two kicks off... and what does it do, overwrite the entire tape or overwrite it's own session from last week?
Finally, my clients on Netbackup are use to months worth of backups. So on the last week of the month I could go back as much as 30 days and pull a file. Everything in arcserve is 5 or 7 day. How do I get around this?
Thanks very much for reading my long winded post!
