In the old flat data base we were using (Q & A) we had a screen in which we could input the "retrieve" specs to specify the data we wanted to retrieve. Then we could select an additional screen into which we could enter sorting order on multiple fields. In the first "sort" field we placed "1A" for ascending sort; in the next field we wanted to sort on we entered "2A" to specify the next field the data would sort on etc. I have an Access parts data base with several thousand part numbers. I use filter by form to find a group of parts and would like to SORT the retrieved records on two or more fields. Is it possible without using a query? Also, is it possible to sort records on two or more fields in the form, again, without using a query?

Sure... Select Records->Filter->Advanced Filter/Sort to set multiple sort criteria. Don't forget to apply the sort after you create it.
