multiple fax pages failing

Has anyone seen an issue with multiple fax pages failing- e.g 1st 5 are fine and then transmission stops

Is the fax machine on an ATA or FXS port?? We no longer support Fax machines on ATA's because it's a crap shoot on if it works or not. It mostly depends on the Fax machine itself, speed , group etc.
What you describe is exactly what I have found on ATA's.

do you have fax relay turned off on all the ports on the vg248?

make sure they are turned off in the vg248 configuration and not just in the call manager.

What type of trunks do you have to the PSTN?
PRI?

I am not really a Call Manager expert but I know VOIP and Faxing.

If faxing one page goes well in 90% of the time but multiple pages fail then look at a few things:

Make sure the faxmachine can only use 9600 baud. All higher rates will give these problems.

What is the option set in the VG248?

We had similiar issues with a couple of VG224's and we changed them from SCCP to H323 and it corrected the issues. We tried the fax relay settings with no luck. I believe you can use SCCP with CCM 4.2 or higher. We are running 4.1.3.
