Can you run multiple DS on a single SQL server?

Yes...
This is of course the SQL server can handle the number of connections and Pipes.

I am doing this today.

NickSoefje, can you let me know how it goes? We are currently looking at doing this and any input would be greatly appreciated.

oneworld,
My current "Citrix" SQL server has 2 Datastores on it.
One for our 3.0 Farm and one for our 4.0 Farm.

There's really nothing to it.
As long as you size your hardware properly there is no ill-effects. You can even cluster your SQL Datastores and provide high-avalability for all of your Citrix Farms.

We have our SQL server running on a IBM xSeries 345. I've also run datastores on HPaq DL380's and HPaq 580's.

All you would basically do is create your first datastore (name it like Datastore1 or w/e) and point Farm1 servers to it.
Then create your second datastore (datastore2 or w/e) and then point all of your Farm2 servers to it.

Hope that helps.

Sorry, yes..."doing this today" = I have been doing this for years.

Running:
1 prod farm
1 dev farm
1 Logcaster DB

hope this helps
