I have an access database that is used for data entry and I would like for multiple users to be able to input into the same database at one time. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Yes it is and evalesthy is right but if you have a lot of data and a multi user setuation you might want to think about MS SQL Express because access is not for multi users per sa. Over five and I would be looking for another database backend. My opinion.

This is certainly a hot button topic. How many users? Again, browse posts on this topic. We have many databases in place where 30- 40 users have linked front-ends. Of course, concurrency, database design, etc all have impact on what Access can support. It is much more robust than many people give it credit for. There is a point where you do want to consider SqlExpress or SQL though. Do your research and decide what is right for you.

Well, you can't really say that. Access was designed for multiple users out of the box (which is evident when you consider that security files have "groups" and "users"). How many multiple users it can handle has mostly to do with what they are doing (data entry, updates, reports, etc.), and how well the database was designed.

Our company uses access and the database is well designed works great with a front and back end. With that said we are upgrading because data curruption is a very real threat. I know this because it happened to us when the power when out and with acess . Now with any data base backup, backup, and more backup. Here is a great artical that will help you find answers. Have a good weekend all.
