Multiple customer questions 1

My compnay recently decided to rent half a floor in our building to another company. I reckon this is where I get to have something to answer besides "0" at the cust prompt. Are there general rules of thumb for having more than one customer? I am currently assuming we will want to bill them separately for their phone usage and I also assume that's the whole reason for having a switch that can accomodate multiple customers - but I haven't actually heard that from anyone upstairs yet. But I'd like to look somewhat prepared when they do come down and start asking phone questions. We currently have 61c with sig server and Call Pilot 4. I don't even know if we have all the packages required for this kind of thing but anything you guys can point me towards as far as being ready will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

MULTI CUSTOMER IS JUST LIKE HAVING ANOTHER PBX ON SITE, DIFFERENT DIALING PLAN, CUSTOMER DATA BLOCK, TRUNKS.
IF YOU DON'T WANT THE HASSLE OF THAT SEE IF YOU MULI-TENANT SOFTWARE, MUCH EASIER TO MAINTAIN

rats - I was trying to make it easier to read by not being so long but it looks harder to read now. I can redo it long style if anyone would rather...

Multi-customer is package 2. You've got it. Multi-tenant is package 86. You've got that one as well.

multi tennant does not normally allow re-using dn's.. ie you can dial 3 or 4 digits between tennants.. it allows tennant to trunk group blocking.. i would use a second customer.. as posted that is 2 switches in one box.. to call from cust 1 to cust 0, 9 plus or add a tie

My vendor will be doing all the heavy lifting on this but I am thankful you guys are here so I can at least follow along what they will be telling us.

I've already put in an order to reserve another 100 DID numbers from my phone company (Not just for the new people but because we were running low anyway). I am assuming the new guys will get DID from me from my pool of available DNs.

I might better order another Digital line card - I think I'm getting low on TNs too...

And I am sure we will want to be able to use 4 digit extension dialing between us and them...

LD 20(or 32 where its documented)
req=LUVU
type=2000 or 3000 (doesnt matter it gives you same reply or 500 if you want analog)

This will show you how many physcial TN's you have available.

Well sweet, I have more than I thought (ya almost always do, huh?) - I reckon I have an afternoon of station wire pulling to do! Or, wait until I need them then look at my shiny new list.

Hello I am trying to implement multi customer as well. Does anyone knows which NTP it shows how to build it. I have succession 4.5 on software level. Thanks

JUST BUILD ANOTHER CDB IN LD 15

There is alot more to it then just program the CDB. i.e. FCR, FFC, MCAD, WCAD, CDP, RLB, ESN, NCTL, NET...etc

It's not something that's implemented during a silent afternoon. You should plan at least 1,5 day's and make sure you're not disturbed.

Gr, Jacco.

it's just like building a new switch.. days depends on you and the number of stations.. just look at it as a new install.. add the customer.. then a cequ, then one card and one phone then routes then bars... i have added a second customer with 4 phone in two long days.. but i used scripts for 90 percent of the data fill.. using just the keyboard, a week was a low number... but do-able... if it's your 1st full install, (new customer) double that

LeeMcCauslin:

You might also want to got to LD 22 and enter SLT to find out out if you have a licence to use all your TNs. Was at a site where they just bought a truck load of Grey market line cards and had a boatload of available TNs but couldn't program a single one of them. Nortel site license by key codes allow only a certain amount of TN's to be programmed.

Thanks, TAnselm - I will do that anyway just so I know what I have - but I've since found out we aren't going to handle their phones. I'll just give them 2 lines and voicemail for a month or two while they are moving in and then they will be getting their own vendor and handling their own phone system (I think I heard VoIP connected back to their home office). It's a big building - we'll never even know they are there. The big wigs upstairs will figure out how much electricity they use and handle all their associated costs and I don't get to do anything. Oh well...Kinda dissappointing, really. I wanted the experience.
