I'm running 5.1 and it clearly states you can have Multiple Budget sets, but I have no idea how to set them up and have reviewed all areas I can think of. We have one budget set up for the current fiscal year, but would like another to track ongoing forecast.

Thanks!

GL Accounts, Budget Maintenance
You will see a Budget Set list of 1 to 5, those are the 5 budget sets.

It also depends on what edition of Accpac you're using. The 100 edition only allows 1 budget set, for example.

Thanks for your quick responses!

I can only find reference to Budget Set 1.....

We are running Accpac Advantage Series Corporate Edition 5.1A (and unfortunately cannot upgrade....)

That is it.. corporate ed only has 1 budget set. I think the next one up had 2 and the top level had 5.

If you wanted to be clever you could look at adding a new segment to your chart of accounts and create a parallel set of accounts. e.g.
Account 4000 <- this is the actual account
Account 4000-1 <- this would store budgets
Account 4000-2 <- this would store budgets

You would have to make sure that you offset any budgets in the adjustment period so that you don't affect retained earnings. So there is some risk if you don't do it right but this would allow you some flexibility.
