Hi guys,
I am trying to setup a recepetion phone (DN 200, line 300) with 3 appearances of that DN on the phone so that upto 3 calls can come in at once and then if no answer or all 3 busy go to voicemail.

I have tried to assign 2 more lines to the phone, but then it won't allow me to assign the same DN.

Is it ringing groups/answer DN or hunt along different lines????

I am going crazy as I know how to do it for a Meridian/CS1K but can't figure out the way on this BCM400 rel4.0!!!

Please help!

Don't believe u can on a BCM. U can have multiple appearances of target lines.

I am a little unclear on your intentions.

If you are using Answer DNs (so the receptionist can answer internal and external calls for another user's DN), you can only assign 1 appearance of a specific Answer DN per phone.

If you are worried ONLY about inbound DID calls, you can assign multiple appearances of the Target Line which accepts calls matching that DID.

As for the receptionist's DN, you can assign up to 8 (depending on phone model) Intercom keys, which would allow her to answer up to 8 calls directed to her DN.

In the BCM/Norstar world you can't add multiple appearances of the same DN, to accomplish the same thing you just add what are called intercom buttons. You can add up to 8.

Adversity is Opportunity

I usually setup 8 APPR and Ring for the main DID Target Line and 3 Intercomm keys for the Recpt phone. that way I have 8 keys I can answer outside calls and 3 keys to answer and make calls for the Recpt.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Thanks for the quick responses guys!

You answered it for me.
I was trying to put the same line on the wrong way, ie not using the appearances, but adding the line again.

Cheers.
