I just baught the Microsoft Multimedia keyboard, which came with Intellitype pro 2.2. After setting up this keyboard, I noticed when I press the volume down button, it doesn't put the volume down, but loads Outlook Express. all the other keys work. I've tried looking on google forums, and microsoft's page, but was unable to find anything. Any help is appreciated. =)

Key assignments are obviously skewed...tried uninstalling/reinstalling the software?

yeah, I tried doing that too. and I found more keys that arn't working right. in the media section, the back button makes the volume go up, the foward button makes it go down, the volume down button acts like the email button, when I have email one disabled volume down loads nothing. The mute button brings up the the same thing F1 does. some help or something. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing. I have win XP pro, and the driver is varified. I don't know what the problem is. =(

Look to Device Manager...the other (old) keyboard may still be in there...causing conflicts. If it's there, logically,
remove it.

There may be a key mapping utility for the keyboard. If there is use it to remap the keys the way they should be.

I removed the old keyboard, and I don't know if there is a key mapping utility, I'll try looking for one.
thanks

Via the properties for the Keyboard or keyboard driver you should find a way to set and edit each keyboard shortcut button. Each button should be listed with a path to an exe. file or URL. You will have to edit these paths so that they match the button.

I tried that too, when I click edit for things like volume, the only option is 'turn this button on/off'. =\ I read in google forums that someone had the same problem, but no one responded with an answer. maybe I should prey for a driver update =p. I just can't stand that I baught a cool keyboard, and the top multimedia keys don't work.
Thanks for all of your help.

The keyboard is on the XP hardware compatibility list?
(and Intellitype 2 is on the software compatibility list?)

My bad: I see now you said the driver for the board is verified!

yes, it is on the compatibility list. I can't stand little problems like this, lol. I didn't even keep the recipt =\. I don't see how I could be the only one with these errors. But I keep trying google to see if I can find anything. Thanks for all of your info.

ok, what I did was un-install the keyboard device, restart my computer and let windows xp find the keyboard itself. Now all my hotkeys work. Thanks for all of your help.
