multimedia audio controller

I must have installed something and i now have 'Code 1 this device is not configured correctly. To reinstall driver for this device, click Reinstall driver'. What has done this?
Where would I find the drivers that I had before? What other multimedia device would use this? I have an external usb Extigy sound card which works fine as I have music.
Well hope its not asking too much but thanx in advance

okay I have found that I have onboard sound. Now I have disabled this long time ago in my BIOS. When I boot I get the ASUS Logo screen. So something has changed my BIOS as I had a look at some of the settings. There have been quite a few things that have changed. What could do this????? I know I don’t have a virus....could a installed program alter the BIOS? I don’t think so, not as far as I am aware??
Maybe I am wrong....?
