What is Multimedia Audio Controller?

On my Windows XP machine, I got a notice that new hardware was detected, and was asked if I wanted to install Multimedia Audio Controller. But it couldn't install because it couldn't find the driver. I didn't install any new hardware, so I don't know why this happened.

Are you able to use the update driver feature?
If it was installed before....you may just be able to tell it that the driver is in windows system directory.

BUGZ huh?

Good luck Kimber

I was concerned that something should be installed that hadn't been installed yet. However, all music and sound works as far as I can tell. And if that's the case, then am I correct to assume that the Multimedia Audio Controller is properly installed?

Look in the control panel and see if you have any symbols next to the hardware listed.
That will tell you if XP is happy with the setup.

If you aren't having any current problems, and you aren't well versed in hardware setup, my humble advice is to leave it alone.

Sound drivers or Modem at a guess.
Check in device manager to see if you have any yellow question marks next to your hardware, if there is then some software hasn't been loaded (sound or modem)
