HI,

I have two t1 links between offices. i want to do multilink at one end as it terminates on same router and not on other end as there is terminates on two different router.

Is it possible to make multilink only at one end..

thanks

I would say that's not possible. With an MPPP link, your data is fragmented, sent across two physical lines simultaneously, then reassembled at the other end. If your remote end is not a multilink as well, there could be no reassmbly of your data. I couldn't point you to any exact literature to say this wouldn't work, but it doesn't seem possible.

HI,

I also knew that it is not possible.

Can you suggest the best way of doing this. i want to load balance between both links.

thanks

is is possible to use eual AD load balance at one end and glbp load balance at other end.

It is technically possible with Multi-Chassis MPPP, but this requires a powerful back-end router at the central site. It works by having multiple access routers that physically connect to your various T1 (or slower) links. These routers then connect over higher speed links (Ethernet & up) to the back-end router. The access routers pass all the packets received on the T1's to the back-end router that reassembles the packets to form the MPPP frames.
I think the back-end router needs to be pretty powerful though (7200+).

What about eual AD load balance at one end and glbp load balance at other end

thanks

I would explore the possiblity of using EIGRP to load balance if that is possible with your network setup. EIGRP load balances by default over equal cost links.
