We had R1(cisco 3745) & R2(cisco 1721) routers with 2 64kbps Leased line between them.
On R1 this links are terminated as 2 diff 64 speed timeslots on Channeslised E1. On R2 these are physically seperate links with RAD modems.

This 2 links works fine when configured individually.
But when this links are added to multilink group they goes down.
I had checked the MPPP config at both ends its perfect.
R1 & R2 has many such multilinks which are working fine.

What could be the problem ?
If any one has some idea, please help !!!

I think,I had got the solution. Will try and get back to u
Thanks

Hi lui

In my first post I didn't mention that I already configured one multilink between R1 and R2 with 3*64Kbps.So it was the multilink bundle name which was getting conflict since the hostname is taken as the bundle name by default.

Previously I had configured 5*64Kbps MPPP but since 2 of the 5 were giving problem thus affecting that MPPP.So I decided to seperate this 2 link and put in seperate MPPP which was not getting up due to bundle name conflict.

Now I had set that 2*64K MPPP as backup. It works.
When this 2 links get OK, I will again add the to first MPPP.

Can we set names for the multilink bundle ? so that I can keep both the MPPP up.
