Hi All!

I look around the forum, and haven't see the answer/tip to my question.

What is the best practice for multiline phones configuration. What you prefer, SCR with hunting or MCR, or maybe there a future I'm fail to attend?

it would be a good and helpful contfiguration tip for new to Meridian PBX'es.

SCR with hunting to a second line(or more if needed) on the set is the most common way that digital sets are programmed on a nortel pbx. Of course SCN, if you don't want the line ringing on that set. Also, by answering the DNDR prompt on the set with input encrements of 6 (6= 1 ring cycle), you can make a SCN appearance on a set start to ring after the DNDR timer expires. Most of the time, users that have line appearances of others on their set for answering purposes like this setup because it gives the owner of that dn time to pick up themselves before it starts to ring at the SCN set. The lines must be SCN on the set you set the DNDR timer on.

MCR is commonly used when DNs are few, or when a lot of calls need to be sent to a common number on several sets. (ie: "0" out of vmail to a MCR line on sets so that anyone can answer). There is, however, one little thing with MCR lines, and that is if the MCR is in ringing state and another call is presented to the same MCR during that time , that caller will get a busy signal.
