Hi peeps,

im trying to print 2 copies from a DOS prog using PCL code, we had a laser printer that died and the codes for that dont work on my new OfficeJet 7140xi...

Does n e one know if i can do this?? or is there another method....

the program is a custom DOS version of sage... if that makes sence!

Cheers
Darren

You probably CAN'T do it, other than sending the job to the printer twice.

A LaserJet images the ENTIRE page in memory BEFORE the paper begins to move, so the printer has all the information it needs to make additional copies.

PCL3 DeskJets, on the other hand are still imaging part of the page during the printing process, and consequently do not have an image of the complete page on memory.

Life is easier using a LaserJet.

Dang! thats what i was afraid of.....

sham really that they needed coulour and wanted a new fax so the all in one seemed to be a great option.....

oh well, if anyone else has any ideas i would be most greatfull. other wise....

Cheers All

How about asking how many copies in the program, which,
I assume, is being done, then sending the pcl code that many times.
