This may be a bit naive to ask. But we are mostly into IP convergence so looking for help as above.

For a financial sector deployment we need to configure multicasting on 3 summit 400-24 switches installed (no PoE, no stacking and all running version 7.4e.2.6 [non-ssh] with only the edge license.

How do I configure this?..
Is this the same as Multicast Routing?
Do I need any Advanced Edge License?

Thanks in advance :)

Multicasting accross VLANs is a router function so you will have to configure ipforwarding on one of the switches and route between the VLANs you want to multicast between.

enable ipforwarding vlan all
enable ipmc vlan all
enable pim (optional but recommended)
configure pim add vlan all dense (optional but recommended)

fyi, i had got clarified confirmed from extreme and it would require advance edge license.
problem is summit 400 being Extremeware type OS is end-of-sale and so Advance Edge no more available, so it will have to be a new x150 or x450..
thanks !
