I am using an ASN Router. There is a LAN on FDDI connected to a Router interface. On this LAN there are some hosts which sends UDP datagrams to a multicast Adress 224.0.0.1 destination UDP port 4500. On the router there is another interface which is an Ethernet 10BaseT. There is another subnet connected to this interface but I can not use a multicast addressing method on this LAN. I mean that an UDP datagram (FDDI side) sent to 224.0.0.1, source IP address 192.168.8.190, destination UDP Port 4500, should be received by an Agent on the Ethernet side (Ip address 10.129.34.1). I tried to do it by using inbound traffic filters but I failed. Can you help me?

Hi

Try to enable PIM (Protocol Independent Multicast) on the interfaces. From Site Manager 'edit circuit'->'protcols'->'add/delete -> PIM. This should cause the router to forward all multicasts. I have used this in connection with Netware 5 logins over wans.

Hope it will work...
