Multicast forwarding

I have a pair of servers in an NLB cluster using multicast mode.

Those servers are connected to an x450 switch in a class C subnet VLAN.

I can access the NLB cluster when I'm on that subnet, but on any other VLAN I cannot access it.

I enabled multicast forwarding on the switch but apparently that's not all there is to it.

Any ideas before I call TAC?

Do you have IGMP enabled on the VLAN interface on your router?

TreyJ,

No...not at this time. I've changed all back to original settings (original meaning before the changes).

I believe I hadn't enabled it though...

Just to confirm the cluster works when you're on the same subnet. correct? When a client PC attempts to connect to the NLB cluster by whatever application it's running it can't connect. correct?

Can you connect to either of the indiviual servers? For example if the NLB address is 10.10.10.3 and the 2 servers are .1 and .2. Can you connect using the 10.10.10.1 or 10.10.10.2 address? which ever one is the master server from across the VLAN?

I presume that you are able to ping the NLB from across the VLAN, correct?

did you enable ipforwarding,

this is what is used to forward the packets to other VLAN's
